Mark One.

ABOUT.
Mark One was an SF-based, VC-backed health-tech startup. Creators of 'Vessyl' automatic nutrition-tracking cup, and 'Pryme Vessyl', a hydration-tracking cup with a proprietary personal hydration algorithm and app.
Industrial design from Yves Behar of Jawbone fame, placements in Apple, Amazon, and Equinox stores, NFL collaborations, and major press attention. It was a meteoric rise and a cataclysmic collapse.
I joined the early team right out of university, leading organic marketing, social/community, customer support, and designing and releasing the campaigns for the pre-orders of Vessyl and sales of Pryme Vessyl.
Was a fully remote employee ~7 years before COVID made it cool. Learned almost everything I know about hi-tech, high-growth startup life from this fantastic initiation with the MK1 crew.
WORK.
- Helped design, release, and run the most successful non-Kickstarter pre-order campaign at the time ($4M in pre-orders).
- Orchestrated the release, sales campaign, and fulfillment of Pryme Vessyl, a 'smart cup' hydration tracker & app ($1M+ sold, placement in Apple, Amazon, Equinox), app UI/UX design & copywriting.
- Managed all social media campaigns and organic marketing efforts.
- Led the full Support department, coordinating a team of 5 remote contractors, fielding ~300 requests/day.
- Coordinated, ghostwrote, and received multiple Tier 1 PR placements (TechCrunch, Forbes, CNN, NYT) driving millions of impressions.
- 'Claim-to-fame' of being the last-standing member of the entire organization once it closed down.
