Blood & Ink: What Was That?

What? Sorry, what was that? No, say it again…

Sorry man, couldn’t hear that because…

WHAT YOU’RE DOING SPEAKS SO LOUDLY I CAN’T HEAR WHAT YOU’RE SAYING.

Run that back, you’ve got to reread it.

What you’re doing speaks so loudly we can’t hear what you’re saying.

The eternal reminder.

Action.

Talk is so unbelievably cheap. Talk is SO cheap nowadays that you can manufacture several books daily, every day, with the air of professional expertise for a $20 ChatGPT subscription.

Action speaks louder than words.

  • Don’t tell me what you value: show me your calendar and where your time goes.
  • Don’t tell me you’re a man of honour: let it be evident in how you live.

In an age dominated by the Mind and the Rational faculty, we’ve collectively gaslit ourselves into believing that what you say is more important than what you do.

  • Action expends more precious energy than thought alone.
  • Action is a value structure, an idea, made manifest.
  • Action is rooted in reality.

It’s like a debate. When it comes down to it—bet on it. “You wanna bet?” Do you want to put your money where your mouth is? Show me the level of your conviction.

Betting pools are often better prediction engines than polls. Because people have to put skin in the game to make a bet. Their money, something they expended their time and energy to get, is on the line.

Action is no different. Talk is cheap, frivolous even. Don’t tell me who you are, show me.

What you are doing speaks so loudly we can’t hear what you’re saying.

Be a man of action,
EB.
