A reminder to myself on my birthday.

Today I turn 32…

(I wrote this yesterday, don’t worry.)

I wanted to sit down and write some reminders to myself. Below are a few pithy maxims — gentle reminders for myself to move forward with. These have gotten me through the good, the bad, and the impossible over the years.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I’ve enjoyed living with them.

  1. This moment is the youngest you will ever be again.
  2. Nothing matters without your health.
  3. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
  4. Reality is complete as it is.
  5. You’re perfect just as you are… and you could use a little work.
  6. Discipline is an act of profound self-love.
  7. Time in nature heals most things.
  8. True failure only arrives when you stop trying.
  9. If you feel distant from God – who moved?
  10. Seek that which makes you come alive.
  11. You will never have enough Bitcoin.
  12. Don’t take it personally.
  13. Living is the art of dying gracefully.
  14. Never let them break your spirit.
  15. Do not sacrifice the meaningful for the expedient.
  16. The Work, works.
  17. Let go, or be dragged.
  18. The only person responsible for meeting your needs is you.
  19. 20% inspiration, 80% perspiration.
  20. If you want to change the world, change yourself.
  21. People respond to vibes first. Act accordingly.
  22. The opportunity you’re waiting for is the one right in front of you.
  23. Sonder: Everyone has a life as complex as your own. Be kind.
  24. Gratitude is the appropriate response to the gift of life.
  25. Do The Thing.
  26. Don’t die with things left unsaid.
  27. No moment is guaranteed, waste no time.
  28. Do no harm, take no shit.
  29. Love yourself enough to do your best.
  30. Make giving a damn cool again.
  31. How you do anything is how you do everything.
  32. Never stray from the Way.

🦁 Love and power, EB.
