Blood & Ink: Saturday

“Accountability feels like persecution to those without integrity.”
I don’t know where I heard this, but I love it…
Accountability could be a gift that others give to you:
- I respect you enough to hold you to your word.
- I trust you’ll do what you say when you say it.
- I support you and hold you to your commitments.
Tet so many run away from accountability. Vague commitments. Beating around the bush. Layers of bullsh*t and excuses.
Accountability, for those of integrity, is a source of pride:
- I am a man of my word.
- You can rely on me.
- My word is my bond.
- I will either find a way or make one.
- I’ve got you.
How far we have strayed when accountability feels like a punishment. When it generates fear, resentment, or stress.
With integrity, accountability is a gift. Without it, a punishment, the scales of justice are never in your favour.
You can change this, brother. At this very moment.
Make your word your bond. Do what you say you will. Do not commit to that which you cannot (or will not) deliver on.
Take pride in the basics of being dependable, reliable, and consistent.
Turn accountability into momentum and motivation.
You can do this,
Eric Brown.
